It is essential that all four groups are included in everyday eating. Omitting one group eg
carbohydrates will significantly decrease the potential availability of vitamins and minerals
available to the body.
Fluid strategies are also essential to promote good hydration.
Dehydration can decrease performance and increase the risk of injury. If calculated properly,
your nutritional needs can usually be met from diet alone, supplements are not recommended unless indicated.
